Volunteer Opportunities

There are many different types of volunteers. Your skill set, interest and enthusiasm can easily be matched for a short or long term volunteer position.  Whether you have specialized skills or just love to be around kids, there are many opportunities within our Clubs to volunteer.

Many different programs are conducted each day at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County. While specific experience is not necessary, we encourage college students to get involved in volunteering and can match your particular field of study to a respective program.  Read more about our programs! For more information about Volunteer opportunities or to send in your Volunteer Information Form please email Volunteer@bgcaa.com.

All volunteers are required to fill out a Volunteer Information Form.  Volunteers 19 and older are required to be fingerprinted.  All volunteers between the ages of 14 and 18 must become BGCAA members to volunteer in the Clubs.  The minimum age for volunteers in 14 years.

Volunteers needed for new Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) program

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis & Anne Arundel County (BGCAA) is kicking off a new educational initiative for Science, Engineering and Technology.  The program will provide youth with awareness, skills and self-confidence in the technical disciplines.

Initially, the program will pilot at three Club sites in Annapolis and then branch out to it’s locations in Severn and Pasadena.  It will incorporate a Science, Engineering and Technology curriculum into the Club’s existing educational line-up to include:

-   FIRSTLego League (FLL) robotics teams

-   Summer camp offering in robotics

-   Visits by Technologists from the community

-   Field trips to observe technology in action.

The Club is making a special request for support in the following areas:

-   Volunteer coaches/mentors with a technical background or love for working with youth for the robotics teams pilot at three Annapolis Clubs

-   Technologists to present career exploration topics to Club members

-   Companies and colleges willing to host a group of program participants for an onsite career exploration visit
