The Boys & Girls Clubs’ “The Next Big Thing” summer camp offers the most affordable, comprehensive, high quality, day camp in Anne Arundel County. Our campers, ages 6 to 12, are exposed to a variety of learning experiences including physical and cultural activities in our Clubs and in the community. These programs provide experiences that enable our youth to discover and develop their creative talents.
All six of our Clubs offer a six-week Summer Camp which runs from late June to August. The cost is $200 for an entire six-week session and includes breakfast, lunch, arts and crafts, reading programs, sports and recreation, a camp T-shirt and highly trained staff. Each week the Club enables young people to gain literacy, math and technology skills while having a great summer experience!
“Sports Camp” Added to Summer Roster
The Boys & Girls Club at Bates has added 3 Sports Camps to the roster for the week of August 11 - 15. Youth of all levels, from the ages of 6 to 12, are invited to join us for Cheerleading Camp, Flag Football Camp or Basketball Camp. Camp will be from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. daily. Registration is $75 per child ($55 for members). For details please call 410-263-2542
What Is The Boys & Girls Club?
The Boys & Girls Club is more than a place, it’s a “movement”. Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. By reaching children at an early age and providing positive activities and encouragement, Boys & Girls Clubs provide compelling alternatives to youth crime, gang membership, drugs and other negative influences that affect our youth today.
The Summer Camp Experience
Summer Camp at BGCAA is for boys and girls ages six to twelve. Camp runs Monday through Friday for six weeks, from late June to August. The Clubs offer Field Trips throughout the summer. Admission fees for these optional Field Trips, if applicable, are not included in camp registration.
Campers will participate in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America's Summer Brain Gain: Read! initiative. This program was designed to enhance and reinforce literacy skills by providing fun activities based on high-quality, age-appropriate books. Two times per week a new book will be presented along with engaging activities which reinforce literacy skills and make reading fun. The activities will ignite inquiry and highlight book themes. Clubs will also be partnering with Barnes & Noble for a daily “Drop Everything and Read” activity which will earn campers free books. The goal is to prompt members to make reading a regular part of their routine, while reinforcing literacy skills.
