Historic London Town and Gardens installed a ground level green roof over their underground museum. The South River Federation got involved and was able to recruit volunteer groups to install and plant the roof. Boys & Girls Club members were quick to jump at this unique opportunity for their Club members to help in the project.

The Bates and Bywater Clubs competed in the 2012/2013 First Lego League qualifying event on December 8th. The Bywater Smarties dominated the Robotic missions earning a high score of 220 and the Bates Terminators, were awarded the Rookie Team Award. Read more here.

Cohen announced that a partnership with Anne Arundel County, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Annapolis and Anne Arundel County, and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation has resulted in a grant that will help revitalize an Annapolis neighborhood and support youth baseball for City and County youth.
Seventeen midshipmen from the US Naval Academy hosted a Black History Month Quizbowl at the Bates Club. Club members joined up with groups of midshipmen and answered questions pertaining to Black History and famous African Americans.
On March 1st BGCAA participated in Read Across America celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday with readings and activities. More than 250 Club members participated.
